Part of our Media Task for this year, was to create a Digipak.
A Digipak is the case that is used to contain CDs.
Every Digpak often reflects, with its images, the genre of music in the Cds and the type of music the Band or Dj is known for.
Often however the digipak is based on the main theme / Hit song of the album.
In our case, we decided to create a very simple but artistic digipak, which reflected at the best the Single track in the Digipack.
As the title of the track chosen is" Another Brick in the wall", we based our digipak on a brick texture, however we made changes, so that it could give more of a "young" and "fun" look to the Digipak.
To modify the picture and apply effects on them, we used a very complicated but great program, Adobe Photoshop Cs4.
It took some time to understand how it worked, however, as we used similar version for our tasks in AS level, it wasn't too complicated.
This is the process all off the pictures, which I originally collected from the internet, went through.
I started by giving the right size. 12.5 x 14 cm. I did this using a special function known as "Image Size"
After giving the right size to the images, I started working with the effects and started thinking on the look I wanted the digipak to have.
I worked with many different effects including HDR, everyday Boost, Black and white, colour overlays and pattern Overlays. However none of the predefined effects gave the look I wanted to my Digipak.
I therefore started free working with colour balances and gradient overlays, to give to all of my pictures a "Club" look.
Which means very bright and rich of colours.
I ended up creating “Rainbow Patterns from one picture (side of digipak) to another.
I ended up creating “Rainbow Patterns from one picture (side of digipak) to another.
I however still did not know how to give an "original" look to the digipak.
I therefore decided to make the covers (Front and Back) which are the only visible parts before opening the digipak, in Black and white.
We also included a Disco Ball. So it was clear that the song presented in the album is a dance remix from the original song, which has nothing to do with the club scene.
Furthermore we also wrote this information on the back cover of the digipak.
This would give a feeling of dullness, however, once the digipak is opened a great amount of colours come to the eyes and a feeling of happiness comes to the buyers.
I believe this gave the digipak a great deal of originality.
Furthermore to make the Digipak look real I had to include logos of possible production/distribution companies, Our Logo, Copyright statement and also a barcode.
All this gave the digipak a very real look.
Furthermore I applied some other effects on the title.
This included inner glow and 3D effects.

Ancillary task 5
Here is a copy of a CD cover from the Kings Of Leon.
In order to make the copy of the CD cover is used Adobe Photoshop.
I decided to produce only one image, as this task had the aim of making practice with
such a complicated program.
However i have used this program several times before both my AS work
and personal work, I therfore did not need lots of practice.
I am pretty satisfied with the work I have done, and I believe it helped me refresh some skills in using
this program.
